Any nonprofit organization that provides employment opportunities for people with disabilities through a document destruction service may become an Active member of the SDA. In summary, SDA active members:
- Are subject to all SDA bylaws and policies
- Must hold AAA certification from the National Association of Information Destruction and renew this certification annually.
